but everything looks perfect from far away.
i've got this song stuck in my head, ever since i heard it once in one episode of rainbow romance, and i finally went to search for it today. it's called "such great heights", and it's a cover done by this band called iron & wine. now i have it on repeat on youtube, because i haven't been able to find an mp3 version of the song as yet.
maybe it's just because it's february and all, but i really like the lyrics of the song. you know how february is always associated with love and romance and stuff, what with valentine's day being right in the middle of it. and the lyrics of the song are perfect for couples. you know, like how they're always in their own world, whether they intend it or not, because all they see is the other person. because most of you will just scroll down past it anyway, i'm just going to put up some of their best verses for my own amusement.
I am thinking it's a sign
That the freckles in our eyes
Are mirror images and
When we kiss they're perfectly aligned
And I have to speculate
That God himself did make us into
Corresponding shapes like puzzles pieces
From the clay
True, it may seem like a stretch
But it's thoughts like this
That catch my troubled head
When you're away, when I am missing you to death
They will see us waving from such great heights
"Come down now," they'll say
But everything looks perfect from far away
"Come down now," but we'll stay
I've tried my best to leave
This all on your machine
But the persistent beat
Sounded thin upon listening
okay darn, that's almost the whole song already.
sigh i can't believe i've been waiting all day long for a call from a guy. and it's not even anyone special, it's about a job i'm really hoping to get. oh won't you please, please, please call soon.
):
okay considering the fact that their office closes at 5 plus or 6, i don't think there's too high a chance of him calling me. i suppose it's back to job-hunting then.
