sigh.
went with ming shuan and liyun to catch sniper today. okay, actually i kind of made them watch it with me. and it was good! i really liked the show. i'm not biased towards it just because edison chen was in it, although he did play a major major role in my liking the film so much. but i loved his character, even though it wasn't exactly very developed. none of the characters were very much developed, actually. but his character in the film is so reminiscent of his real life persona, and it's amazing how well he carries his cockiness and arrogance.
there was this one part i really loved. no worries, it's not much of a spoiler. but in case you're an edison chen fan i won't spoil the moment for you. highlight it if you want to see how awesomely cool he was haha.
so there's the sniper team being ordered to go to their respective positions by richie yen, who refuses to send edison chen in because he used a method of sniping richie yen didn't agree with (said method also happens to have been learnt from richie yen's rival huang xiao ming). so the four teams of two people each (one sniper and one spotter) go around the building to try and kill the criminal who has taken a bunch of people hostage. and richie yen is directing them from inside a police van. and edison chen is leaning (in a very cool manner, might i add) against the van, listening to richie yen's instructions and the responses from the four teams through his earpiece.
richie yen: yi qiang bi ming! (something like shoot to kill or something)
sniper 1: no.1 team, can't get a clear shot.
sniper 2: no.2 team, not confident of hitting the criminal's head.
sniper 3 and sniper 4 both say something along the same lines.
richie yen is getting nervous because the criminal is bashing a hostage's head in when suddenly...
edison chen: no.5, locked.you know, you would think i've learned my lesson about narrating something because it never sounds as cool or as funny as i want it to be.
but take my word for it, it was an awesome scene!!
i completely don't mind watching it a second time. or a third time. does anyone need someone to go and watch the film with them??
the only thing that was bad about the movie was the guy sitting in front of me. first, he was sitting in my seat because he got the row wrong. and then, as if he was determined to ruin the movie for me, he sat up rigidly straight throughout the entire movie, and he was kind of tall so in the end this was what i was watching the entire time.

thank goodness they did loads of nice not too close-up shots of edison chen so he wasn't blocked by the big head at all. and nobody is to laugh at my stupid drawing. nobody. and ironically enough, there was a character in the film called big head. at least, i think that was what the english translation of his name was, because most of the time the real big head blocked the subtitles.
i am definitely getting the dvd when it comes out. i hope it comes out soon. and i really think i want to watch it a second time, if only so i can pay more attention to the plot this time round instead of uhh... getting distracted.
and the special effects were pretty cool. like when
huang xiao ming shot richie yen's leg and it blew off (highlight for spoiler), you could totally see that bit flying off and all the splatter.
sigh. okay, highlight of the
day week month, edison chen.
and boonwei the wonderful got me this huge print-out of a scanlation featuring ikuta toma! haha thank you so much boonwei i'm still trying to find the most prominent place i can put it up so i can stare at it every few seconds and smile stupidly. speaking of which, thanks for coming down to visit you guys! haha. and dawn had on this shirt with this amazingly cute bunny face on it. it just makes you think "ooh, bunny!" and feel warm and fuzzy all over. and boonwei bought ralph lauren romance silver from me! thanks so much boonwei haha. i hope it was wrapped up properly.
oh what else do i want to talk about. ah, there was the going to tampines one to visit yimean, and the play thing at sam's church. but i'm a little tired to blog about all that now. plus i have pictures to upload and i don't have the cable with me now, and i'm too lazy to go get it.
work tomorrow. shall have to sleep early else i'll be awfully tired during work again. i think i'll read through the btt book again just in case. and i'll bring my japanese stuff so i can revise before the start of the elementary two course. i hope the teacher's nice! i've never met this teacher before, and it isn't one of the nice female senseis we had for our elementary one course. i'm a little bummed over that, because i really liked them and the way they taught us. so i'm just hoping this teacher will be as good as them. i'm looking forward to starting japanese again.
